Every entry below was collected, filtered and re-checked automatically. Nothing here is a paid placement.
One entry per category, ranked by evidence grade and stars, recomputed on every update. A ranking, not an endorsement; every pick links through to its full card below. Projects that published a screenshot or a recording are preferred, so the strip stays visual.
Claude Code gained mods in 2.1.287: extensions that may change deeper behaviour than a plugin could, and draw their own interface.
A mod can hook ui.render to paint a row, band, pane or card around the prompt, read the text you last selected with $.ui.selection(), spawn teammates with agent.spawn, and own a Client region. A mod that fails to draw fails alone — ui.fault keeps one broken mod from taking down the session.
This list covers mods, the plugin and hook surface they build on, and the DSH and Cordis equivalents. It deliberately does not cover the wider Claude Code ecosystem: a prompt pack is not a mod.
Most lists in this space assert inclusion. This one says how much was actually verified, then lets you filter accordingly. A grade describes the evidence, not the quality of the project — a well-built mod nobody has written about yet is still inferred.
| Grade | What it means |
|---|---|
published by Anthropic itself |
Published by Anthropic itself, or read directly from the official changelog. |
its own text names a mod API, or it declares the mod capability |
Its own text names part of the mod surface — ui.render, ui.fault, agent.spawn, $.ui.selection(), a pane, band or card — so the author is describing something they built against the real API. |
declared a mod, plugin or hook, but nothing about the mod surface specifically |
It calls itself a mod, plugin or hook, but nothing in its text names the mod surface specifically. Real, but unconfirmed. |
matched on vocabulary alone |
Matched on vocabulary alone. Included so the filter is auditable, not because it is believed. |
Anthropic's own Claude Code repositories, and the releases that defined the mod surface. Read from the source rather than summarised.
